Pure BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU is now in Coffs Harbour. Come and learn the gentle art, as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is also known - it doesn't rely on any striking, kicking or punching. Rated worldwide as one of the most effective and powerful martial art since it was created and introduced by the Gracie Family from Brasil.

Nowadays its techniques are widely adopted in several sports, from the UFC (MMA), NRL teams, Police Force and Special Forces around the globe.

Originally based on Self Defence techniques, BJJ is very powerful although there is no striking nor kicks, as it combines leverage to body mechanics to increase your strength to efficiently control and dominate any opponent, even bigger in size, heavier or faster.

About Head Instructor - Cristiano Hisa

Born and raised in São Paulo, Brasil. Black belt with over 16 years of experience in BJJ. Earned his belt from Professor Thiago Braga, the Head Instructor of Legacy Academy.
Our Black Belt lineage: Thiago Braga < Paulo Guimarães < Jorge Pereira < Rickson Gracie.
Fully insured and accredited with Working with Children, First Aid and also trained in Dealing with Threatening and Aggressive Behaviour and Law Enforcement.
